Unstoppable Momentum for RWB

Candela Nuevo was the place to be on Tuesday September 5

Wild weather did not deter over 100 Founding Members from attending the RWB September Drinks party and Candela Nuevo impressed guests with its’ undeniable ‘wow’ factor.

Members were warmly welcomed with great food and drinks, familiar faces, the sultry sounds of keyboard vocalist Pru Illingworth - and THAT view over Southbank - the scene was set for another superb event!

This was a relaxed evening for Founding Members but a great networking night with business cards being exchanged and acquaintances renewed.

Peter Hudson, Chair thanked members for getting behind the RWB initiative during this inaugural year and welcomed a number of new members to the group.

A principle goal is to connect with and bring people closer to the Western Bulldogs Football Club; to nurture relationships and share goodwill

Peter described this role as ‘hugging’ and reflected that this was something the Club had not been good at in the past.

RWB is here to do the hugging

Campbell Rose AM provided a summary of the year’s activities and shared that RWB has grown into a significant network of 180 Founding Members.   Our membership body is presently 75% male and 25% female, however the female membership has doubled from 21 to 44 in recent months.

We are proud that our network is a diverse group, representing business leaders from 30 different industry groups.

The Forever Foundation has succeeded in bringing together an influential and diverse group of business leaders to RWB – one of our key aims

The Australian Sports Foundation was invited to trial their new Donation App at the function.  This App has been developed to simplify the donation process and proved a success on the evening.   With the support of Jaime Firman and Sarah Tutt from the Sports Foundation, eight new members signed up to RWB - able to make a tax deductible donation without putting down their wine glass.  Three cheers to the Sports Foundation!

The September Drinks party concluded the RWB network’s inaugural year, with seven events having been held in 2017.

Membership renewals for 2018 are now being taken.  The RWB Network will kick off with an event in early March, for the start of the football season. We will follow with a Winter Warming event mid-season in June,  and another September Drinks party during the season finals.

With the night sky clearing, and the formalities concluded, Members made their way to the rooftop bar to continue networking.

The Directors of the Forever Foundation wish to thank Mr Peng Hong Wong and Mr K T Lim of Victoria Investments & Properties Pty Ltd and Victor Grunewald of Candela Nuevo for sponsoring this memorable evening of celebration for RWB.
